NSF Smart Communities Planning Grant

9/18/21: Kathryn Masten, CEO of Masten-Cain Consulting, is part of a research team that has been awarded a Smart and Connected Communities planning grant from the National Science Foundation. The team will develop an online dashboard to monitor sensor data about water and air quality and flooding experienced in the coastal city of Ingleside on the Bay, Texas. As co-founder and former Executive Director of the nonprofit Ingleside on the Bay Coastal Watch Association, Dr. Masten will help assess the organization’s information and communication network as it endeavors to protect this community threatened by climate change and rapid industrialization.
